Helsby Golf Club
Members and their guests enjoyed this year's Black & White (with a hint of red!) Evening, which included a lovely meal, fun quiz and entertainment provided by comedian and singer Steve Greenwood.
The evening was organised by the Powered Wheelchair Appeal committee and a chair was presented to Henry Robertson, aged 13, who was accompanied by his Mum, Dad and Sister. Henry attends Hebden Green School in Winsford and lives in Hartford.
There was another very special presentation to Bert & Alice Dyson following Bert's well earned retirement as Appeal Secretary and in recognition of 25 years superb contribution to the PWA. Under Bert's unstoppable stewardship, the club has funded around 260 powered wheelchairs over 25 years and Helsby is proud to be the charity's Number 1 club in UK & Ireland.
Amongst Bert & Alice's gifts and good wishes was a beautiful painting by Graham Baxter who, when he learned who it was for, would not accept any payment for the painting.
