How do I get into the Members section?

By entering your email address and unique password into the "Members Log-in:" box on the left. For security and Data Protection reasons, each member now has his or her own unique password.

What if my email address isn't recognised?

This will be the case if you haven't previously informed the club Secretary of your email address. To register your email address, please click here to email it to the Secretary. Once registered, you will be emailed back with your own unique password.

What if I don't know my password?

If you have successfully logged in previously but have forgotten your password, just click on "Lost password?" in the "Members Log-in:" box on the left and on the next screen enter your email address. An email with your password will be automatically sent back to you.

If you have never logged in previously (but you have already provided your email address) then email the Secretary and he will email you back with your password. As an alternative to contacting the Secretary you can email the Webmaster.

What if I haven't got an email address?

Access to the Members section is strictly by email address and password for security and Data Protection reasons. If you do not have an email address, you can obtain one free from Yahoo. Just click on "No email?" in the "Members Log-in:" box on the left and you will be taken to a screen that allows you to create an email account of your own.

Why can't I see some fellow members' contact details in the Member Directory?

For Data Protection reasons, members now have full control of their own details and how much they are prepared to let fellow members see. If you can't see someone's details, it is because he or she has chosen to 'hide' them from you. However, to get the full benefiit of the facilities offered by the new website, it is hoped everyone will choose to 'show' at least their email address and phone number.

How do I let fellow members see my contact details?

Your email address and phone number will be displayed by default. However you can choose to "hide" them if you wish. Alternatively you can choose to publish more details such as your address. To make changes, log in to the Members section and select "My profile" from the main menu. For each piece of data you want to "publish" or "hide", click on the relevant button to the right of each item.

How do I update my address or any other personal details?

Log in to the Members section and select "My profile" from the main menu. Click on the "edit" button and you will be taken to a screen where you can edit any of your details. When you have finished, press the "update" button (but please don't press it if you haven't made any changes). Changes made this way will be automatically emailed to the club Secretary so that your details on the main Club 2000 Membership Database can be kept up to date with you in full control of your own data.

How is my personal data to be used?

Your own address details are available to view in My Profile, so that if you move house or change mobile number etc, you can amend the details online, automatically generating an email to the Club Secretary informing him of the change in your details. You can choose to "show" certain bits of information - such as your phone number or address - in the member directory. This is available to all other members and enables members to contact each other easily should they wish. Personal information can be hidden from other members - it is very much down to you what you publish in the directory. However, we would ask that you at least show your email address and phone number so that fellow members can contact you. Remember, only fellow members of the club can see these details. The club is fully committed to Data Protection. Personal data is used only in the contexts stated above and is never passed on to any third parties. The data is presented in such a way as to offer a service to members and the club, not for other more commercial or invasive reasons.

Why do I not receive emails from the club?

Check your email security and spam filtering settings and make sure that anything from @helsbygolfclub.org is allowed through. It is known that a signifcant proportion of emails from the club are rejected by members' email settings. These members are missing out on important and interesting communications from our club.
