Helsby Golf Club is an active and very successful fundraiser for the Powered Wheelchair Association. The club's efforts on this front have been led by Bert Dyson - awarded an MBE for his services to children - and are referred to in Peter Alliss's autobiography: "Over the years there has been tremendous support from a number of golf clubs up and down the UK and in Ireland ... but one is very special. It's the Helsby Golf Club in Cheshire."
